This seminar aims to familiarize users with electronic sources and services, helping them to determine their information needs and to identify, locate, evaluate and use effectively the information needed in an interactive way.
Educational techniques: presentation, role playing, treasure playing
Duration: 1 hour
Outcomes: After the seminar the user will be able to:
- Be well oriented at the library space
- Locate easily and quickly the books on the shelves
- Recognize and distinguish the different kind of information
- Know the services the library offers
- Comprehend the utility of research tools and the applications of the library catalog
- Understand the research process of the library catalog
2. Research in Bibliographic Resources (LIB2):
This seminar emphasizes on the development of a research topic, subject analysis through mind maps. It teaches the users how to locate the appropriate databases, how to retrieve the information through strategic and research techniques (Boolean operators), how to evaluate the information that has been retrieved.

Duration: 2 1/2 hours
Location: Main Computer Lab of the University of Macedonia (1st floor)
Outcomes: After the seminar the user will be able to:
- Construct a research using the appropriate keywords
- Distinguish the scientific information
- Use appropriately the different types of information
- Use research strategies
- Modify the research process if necessary
- Evaluate the information you retrieve
3. Standards and tools of writing an assignment (LIB3):
This seminar helps the users comprehend the concept of bibliography and bibliographic references, it informs about the bibliographic standards at the international bibliography and teaches the users how to create and manage their bibliography through reference management software.

Duration: 3 hours
Outcomes: After the seminar the user will be able to:
- Comprehend concepts like reference list and in-text citations
- Create bibliography and reference according the international standards (APA, MLA, etc)
- Organize and manage efficiently the bibliography through reference management software
4. Digital means and web services (LIB4):
a) Effective ways on presenting your assignment (LIB4a):
This seminar offers the user the opportunity to discover principles and techniques on how to design his/her assignment in an effective and dynamic way.
Educational techniques: presentation, brainstorming, practice
Duration: 1 hour
Outcomes: After the seminar the user will be able to:
- Design his presentation effectively
- Use videos and pictures in his presentation with legal and ethical way
b) Google Tools (Google Calendar, GDrive, Google Forms) (LIB4b):
In cooperation with the Computer and Networks Center of University of Macedonia.
In this seminar the contemporary Google tools are presented as long as the attendees have Gmail account. It emphasizes on the development and the usage of web tools against traditional applications making communication easier.

Outcomes: After the seminar the user will be able to:
- Use the possibilities of Cloud Storage Services
- Know the characteristics of web tools such as Google calendar and Docs
- Create forms which can be adjusted to the user needs and requirements and also worked out and integrated into websites
c) Manage your Assignments through cloud services (Lib4c):
In cooperation with the Computer and Networks Center of University of Macedonia.
In this seminar the transition of the traditional web to the advanced web services and the new trends of the cloud computing security are presented. The attendees have the opportunity to meet two cloud computing tools witch help them to manage and share their assignments among their colleagues effectively. It also emphasizes on the potential of the new task manager tools (task management) and social bookmarking (bookmark manager and labels ) in order to be used easily and efficiently by the students.

- Cooperate with colleagues efficiency via cloud computing tools
d) Discover the extra possibilities of Gmail (LIB4d):
In cooperation with the Computer and Networks Center of University of Macedonia.
This seminar presents e-mail possibilities through Google product Gmail. With the registration as student of the Institution you have the opportunity to know all the possibilities that Gmail offers. The students can use their Gmail account of Institution not only during their studies but also after their graduation for as long as they wish.

a) Research Strategies for postgraduate studies (LIB5a)
The aim of this seminar is to help its users obtain knowledge as far as the information retrieval for postgraduate studies is concerned and also to enhance user information management skills.

- Understand effective research strategies for post graduate studies
- Design on his/her own a research
- Apply best practices on information retrieval

b) Job Search Techniques (LIB5b)
