The Greek Almanacs 19th-20th century database includes Greek almanacs that have been published in Greek language which are found in the Hellenic Literary and Historical Archive library. Hellenic Literary and Historical Archive, provides the biggest collection of Greek almanacs in the world. The oldest is in 1809. The subject content of library of Hellenic Literary and Historical Archive collection in the database, covers a wide range of material which is of literal, folklore, artistic and economic interest. However, this almanacs apart from being ephemeral they were also not easy to handle. For this reason the material is not a subject of systematic research by researchers and has been ignored as a source of the modern Greek history. Important information which concerns every day life has been unexploited. The index of this material brings to light valuable elements of the modern Greek history. The collection sources of these pieces of work is the rich almanac collection which is provided by Hellenic Literary and Historical Archive (more than 1,000 volumes). This almanacs can be found in public and private libraries in Greece as well as in other libraries abroad. Chronological coverage: 1885-1911. It includes 10.000 bibliographic records.
