Dictionary and Translation Tools

  • Electronic Dictionaries (Greek Language Center) Four electronic dictionaries are included here, which provide all the necessary for the educator and the student information (lexicological, semantic and relevant to the language's use), which are also provided in the traditional dictionaries, but at the same time this information become more useful and more attractive. Additionaly, some lexicographic exercises enrich even more the possibilities that a computer provides.

  • Geographic Names Information System Search places in the United States, based on their features, their population, the states name. It offers details for every region that is found.
  • GEOnet Names Server This database allows searching for geographical information of countries outside the United States and Antarctica. It contains information on cities, and other occupied places, river features, lakes, roads, tunnels, schools, etc.  The online database is updated on a bi-weekly schedule and in the future it will also provide specific information on the longitude and latitude of these features.
  • Library of Congress Country Studies The Country Studies Series presents a description and analysis of the historical setting and the social, economic, political, and national security systems and institutions of countries throughout the world.
  • *Oxford Reference Online Maps & Illustrations It includes a quick guide to the countries' flags, you can find physical and political maps of each country, and in addition, it presents with 6000 illustrations information on the countries. In this way, it enriches a big part of its' subjects, from astronomy and the human body, until arts and society.
