5 Printing
Printing is as easy as selecting Menu: File \ Print,
or by using the keyboard shortcut CONTROL+P.
To print quickly without
looking at the print options, you may press CONTROL+P, ENTER.
Once you select Print (CONTROL+P), a dialog box will appear that states
which printer is being used (if using a Network Printer, or if more
than 1 printer is connected to your computer). Word will choose the
default printer of your system as its first choice. To change this,
simply use UP and DOWN ARROW keys in the Printer drop down list.
Other important features are as follows:
- Page Range allows selecting which pages to print from all pages
to a single page and anything in between. Instructions even appear
in the dialog box for printing different combinations. Say you have
corrected pages 1, 5, 8, 9, and 10 of a document and just want
to print them. Under Pages: type in 1, 5, 8-10.
- Copies: Number of copies allows multiple printing of the same
document, and collate will tell Word to print one full copy in order
and then repeat the process. This way, you do not have to go through
the chore of putting each page together when the printer gives you
10 of page number 1, 10 of page number 2...
- The print field, at the lower right, gives the option of printing
odd or even pages in case you want double sided copies of the document.
Choose to print just odd pages, then re-insert your document into
the printer (make sure you put it in so that the blank side will
be printed on next) and select print just even pages.
