Windows - A Graphical User Interface

Graphical User Interface (GUI) is the up-to-date way of communication between a computer and a human being. All MS Windows versions use the GUI model of communication.

Opposite to the former operating systems, which were "Command-Line" based, Windows uses dialog boxes with various visual elements in it showing the user the most possible amount of relevant information at one glance. With mouse and a minimum of keyboard typing the user may choose the proper options and start the wanted applications / commands.
