Description

In libraries and universities of all sizes and types, projects are constantly being suggested, planned, implemented, and managed or mismanaged. All too often they are left to languish in a state of semi-completeness as new priority projects take their place. What can managers and others in the organization do to help guarantee successful, stress-free (well, almost!) projects that are completed on time, within budget, and at an acceptable quality level? This workshop will focus on key issues in project management from the planning to the completion stages of large and small projects in libraries. Practical suggestions will give you guidance for success no matter what your role in the project. Survival and success are both important concepts and knowing what really matters in the life of a project is essential.

The workshop will be presented by Dr. Mary Bushing, Associate Professor & Information Resources Development Librarian at Montana State University, Bozeman, Montana, USA. Dr. Mary Bushing is an international consultant and library educator. She has published numerous articles, four monographs, and has conducted more than a hundred workshops and seminars for all types of libraries. Her knowledge of library operations and educational organizations enables her to provide both the theory and the practical hints for application and success.
