Databases
The University of Macedonia Library offers to its users the opportunity to have access to 250 databases (bibliographic with abstracts, bibliographic with access to the full text, statistical...)

Databases Print E-mail

Through the Library's portal Thira you can have access to databases, statistics, Internet resources etc. Patrons may either use the Thematic Index or the portal's search engine.

Access to all databases is free from all the computers inside the Library and the University of Macedonia and it's controlled by their IP addresses. All the members of the University Community can access remotely the databases from the University's internal network, as long as they obtain an e-mail account and a password from the Computer Centre. In its pages you can find a tutorial on how you can connect in the University's network through telephone line, available only  in greek.

In addition, all the University members with an Internet connection (ADSL or other type) via a third-party ISP, such as FORTHnet, or OTEnet can access all the databases remotely via the Library's proxy server . The only restriction on using this service is that they must have a University e-mail account and password.

All non-affiliated members who don't have the right of remote access in the Library databases can only visit the FREE databases.

For the few databases that are still disposed through the Library cd-rom network, please contact the reference librarians.
