The Library provides to all its' users the possibility to search for more information in the Online Library catalog.

So, apart from the bibliographic data, users can find additional information for almost 35000 foreign book titles. 

The additional information usually includes:
-Images of the covers
-Tables of contents
-Abstracts
 
Moreover, the following information may appear:
-Texts of the first chapter
-Book reviews from valid journals (e.g. Choice)
-Author's biographies
and more. 

All this additional information appear on the left column of every book's record, under the title "ITEM INFORMATION".

In this way, you can locate more easily the books that respond to your needs, without having to go to the Library's shelves.

This service will expand gradually, until the end of 2007, by providing additional information for 2000 greek books.

This service takes place under the PLOEGIS project: From Information to Knowledge (3rd Community Support Framework / OPEIVT ΙΙ / ACTION 2.1.3d) which is 75% co-funded by the Eyropean Union (European Social Fund) and 25% by National resources (Hellenic Ministry of National Education and Religious Affairs/Managing Authority of OPEIVT).
